Breaking Strongholds
For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God and take every thought captive to obey Christ. 2 cor 10:4-5
The above verse is a guidance for a growing Christians and for those who wants to know about Christ. Though we know Christ Jesus as our savior, Some of us are bounded by strongholds such as our old habits , superstitious believes, anger ,self-centered thoughts , manipulative talks, arguments, and pride these habits and practice becomes a barrier and affect our Christian growth, we might struggle to overcome them but fail the reasons might be we are not able to identify the problem.
Paul urges us to fight our strongholds by taking captive of every thought and lofty opinion to obey Christ. Our thoughts and opinion are not always from the spirit of God, Bible tells us to test every spirit.
Though Adam and Eve was in the garden of Eden temptation came to them through the serpent ,Satan was cunning enough to put thoughts and opinions in their mind and both Adam and Eve sinned against GOD .We have to be vigilant enough to take our every single thought and opinion to GOD in prayer to the obedience of Christ . Because we can only break our stronghold only by abiding in Christ, Since Christ was obedient to the Father, who gave Himself as a living sacrifice for our sins. (Phil 2:8 says He humble himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross).
As children of God we must fight our strongholds that we face in our day to day life by completely surrendering to Christ. But to all who believed in Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of GOD.John1:12
